4-26-11 Let's Alter A Clock For Tutorial Tuesday!

Hello, Hello, And Welcome To Tutorial Tuesday!

Today's Tutorial Is Going To Be So Much Fun! I Think You're
Going To Love it!

We're Going To Make An Altered Clock!

Ready?!

Supplies You Will Need:

An Inexpensive Clock (I used one by Mainstay, from Walmart, under $5)
Image or Images of Your Choice
Thin ChipBoard Numbers, Number Die Cuts, or Number Stickers
Your Favorite Adhesive (I used my ATG)
Foam Mounting Tape
Patterned Paper
Markers or Other Coloring Medium
Hole Punch
Circle Template

Instructions:

1. Color Your Desired Image or Images. Cut out Your Numbers, If using Stickers. (I used metallic gold foil stickers from the Paper Studio and stuck them on Brown cardstock and cut them out.)

2. Take apart your clock. Be sure Not to lose those tiny screws and the hands!

3. Cut out Your Large Circle for your Clock Face, from Patterned Paper. ( I used the glass from
the clock face and traced around it -It will be a little larger than what you need)

4. Cut Out Your Image, as well as a matting piece for it. (I used the Creative Memories Cutting
system and thier circle templates. But, again, you could trace around something the desired size and cut out with scissors).

5. Punch a Hole In the Center of Your Image.

6. Apply adhesive to the face of the clock.

Here, you see a picture of the clock face and hands, the large circle of Patterned
Paper, and my uncolored image with matting:

7. Place your large circle of patterned paper onto your clock face and press down, using your fingers to fit the paper snuggly down into the clock frame. Rub your fingers all around the paper and around the edges inside the frame. You want to be sure the paper is securely adhered to the clock face. You will notice that you have excess paper around the inside of the clock face, around the inside of the clock frame.

8. Take your exacto knife and carefully go around the inside edges of the clock frame, to remove the excess paper, and achieve a neater look.

9. Apply adhesive to the back of your colored matted image and then place it in the center of your clock, with the clock stem poking through your image. Press down to be sure it is secured.

10. Now, cut thin strips of Foam Mounting Tape to the back of your numbers, remove the paper liner, and adhere your numbers to the clock face in the proper positions.

Here, You can See My Clock Face With The Image and Numbers Atached:

11. Next, Put your clock hands back on the stem

12. Put your clock back together, and secure it using the little screws.

Ta-Da! you're Done!

And Here Is Your Finished Clock!

I hope you enjoyed today's tutorial!

We'd love to hear your comments!
